In September 2024, a server from an East Asian enterprise, configured with RAID 5 and RAID 0 using 16 SSD hard drives, was infected with ransomware. All virtual machines deployed on ESXi virtualization were encrypted with the "encrptd" extension, and a multimillion-dollar ransom was demanded. We successfully manually analyzed and cracked the ransomware, achieving a 99% success rate in decrypting and extracting data.
